At Future Action, we’ve partnered with over 300 schools and leading agencies including Virtual Schools, Active Partnerships, Public Health teams, MATs and School Sport Partnerships.
Together, we’ve built joined-up, trauma-informed programmes that transform children’s mental wellbeing and life chances — from Norfolk to Liverpool, Devon to the Wirral.
💡 Why Now?
Over 1 million children in England are currently accessing or waiting for mental health support — the equivalent of 10 full Wembley Stadiums.

RISE Up is a trauma-informed, movement-based, early intervention programme that gives educators the tools to build confidence, regulation, resilience and belonging — every single day.
🎯 Four Core Aims
Regional RISE Up programmes are built around four key aims:
1️⃣ Identify young people struggling with their mental health early — and direct them to specialist support before illness escalates.
2️⃣ Equip them with practical self-care tools to build confidence and resilience.
3️⃣ Use movement to support emotional regulation, safety, and a sense of belonging.
4️⃣ Develop a trauma-informed frontline of educators across your area.
This joined-up, preventative approach reduces pressure on services and builds a culture of care from the ground up.
🔄 How Regional Programmes Start
We often begin with a CPD taster session or intro slot at a regional conference, which sparks energy and builds a waiting list of schools eager to go deeper.
You then help identify priority schools, such as:

Schools in low-socioeconomic areas

Settings with high numbers of children from the Virtual School cohort

Schools facing rising anxiety, attendance, or regulation challenges
We guide each school through a fully supported 1-year journey — with training, templates, and tools every step of the way before we evidence impact for the schools and you.
We can also work with you to identify appropriate funding pots to support your region's involvement and sustainability.

We present at a regional CPD or conference to introduce the approach and build a waiting list of interested schools.
2️⃣ High-Need Schools Prioritised 🎯
You (Virtual Schools, Active Partnerships, Public Health) add targeted schools based on data and local priorities.
3️⃣ Regional Network Launch 🤝
All schools come together with us for a joint CPD session to kickstart collaboration, mindmap opportunities, and build a connected learning community.

Supporting schools to create, implement and embed their plans.

Schools design their own approach, choosing from over 14 evidence-based pathways to meet their specific needs.
5️⃣ Award-Winning Online Training 🎓
Educators complete flexible, CPD-certified training in Trauma-Informed PE and RISE Up early intervention wellbeing toolkits.
6️⃣ Support Every Step 🧭
Ongoing check-ins, planning calls, teach meets and ready-to-use editable resources ensure schools are never left to go it alone.

Our programme was proud to receive the award for the UK’s Leading Student Wellbeing Teacher Training Course for 2025, recognising our national impact and practitioner-led approach to mental wellbeing in schools.

❤️ In our Liverpool RISE Up Programme, educators reported a 39% improvement in their perceptions of student mental wellbeing, and an average 31% increase in their school wellbeing provision.

🏫 Charles Darwin Primary School improved attendance through a Monday morning RISE Up Sport Sanctuary, while also supporting Year 6 transitions.

🧩 Bure Park Specialist School reduced physical holds from 50 to just 10 in two years, using movement and trauma-informed practice.

👧 Belvedere Academy significantly increased girls' engagement in PE and won the Youth Sport Trust National Award for Outstanding Secondary Practice.
