Thank You, CYPMHC Membership, Norfolk PE Conference & Podium Analytics

Dear Valued Colleague

We hope you are having a great week.

As we come to the end of this half term we wanted to say thank you for all your efforts in transforming your young people's lives.

It has been absolutely fantastic to welcome so many great teachers and schools to our RISE Up Programme over the last few weeks.

In the last week alone over 170 teachers have accessed the course and we look forward to working in partnership with all our new members to create a fantastic community of teachers committed to supporting their students' mental wellbeing.

These are some of the comments from our hero teachers that have completed the course:

'I have taken so much away from this course, not only for myself but to help with teaching this RISE Up programme that we offer in school. This will benefit the students I teach by empowering them and giving them the knowledge they need to help improve their mental health. The course is clear and concise with simple and easy to do tasks and challenges.'

Mrs Turnbull

'Videos were very helpful - well explained and informative'

Mr Thomas

'The amount of content given through video, as well as resources will really help when delivering the course.'

Miss Radley

'The course has increased my awareness of students wellbeing, how to monitor & promote change and given me strategies to use right now in my lessons'

Mr Obayoriade

Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition Membership

We are delighted to announce that Future Action are now members of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition,

The Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition brings together leading charities to campaign jointly on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people.

At any one time, 1 in 10 children and young people have a diagnosable mental health problem, and it is well established that most adolescent and adult mental illness can be traced back to childhood.

Addressing issues early helps individuals and society – that message needs a powerful voice and we are delighted to offer our support to the Coalition that shares many of our values.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome the Coalition’s Chair Sir Norman Lamb to City Academy Norwich this week for the media launch of the Norfolk County Council RISE Up Programme.

Norfolk County Council have used funding from the Department of Education to fund the programme for all secondary and special schools in the County. We have been absolutely delighted with the uptake from Norfolk teachers and schools with over 60 schools signing up in 4 weeks.

Norfolk PE Conference RISE Up Workshop

Our founder Neil Moggan will be presenting a workshop on the RISE Up programme at the Norfolk PE Conference on Wed 8th June.

The workshop will focus on how Physical Education teachers can play a leading role in transforming the mental wellbeing of students and staff.

It is now statutory for schools to teach the link between physical activity and mental wellbeing. This workshop will show you how to do this in an engaging and memorable way so your young people remember the key messages and embed healthy habits now and long after they have left your school.

The workshop will demonstrate how PE Departments can have whole school impact, and how the programme has been used in over 70 Norfolk Primary, Secondary & Special Schools over the last 2 years to help young people RISE Up from the effects of Covid.
